The City of Red Bud has an opening for a full-time employee as a Power Plant Operator in the Utility Department. This opening is being created by the upcoming retirement of an existing employee. Duties include monitoring the electrical distribution system; maintaining mechanical equipment such as air compressors, generators, and motors; monitoring the water and wastewater plants, housekeeping in the power plant facility, office, and employee areas, and ensures all grounds, buildings, and gates are secure. The City offers a very competitive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance, vacation, sick leave, and pension. This is a second shift position with approximate hours of 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM and may include some holidays and weekends. The starting salary for this position will be based on experience. Approximate starting hourly pay may be in the range of $21.00 to $23.00 per hour. The final rate of pay will be $26.86 per hour once the successful candidate completes the probationary period and assumes all duties upon the retirement of the current employee.
A Valid driver’s license, physical, drug screen, and background check is required.
