NOTICE REGARDING THE CAT POPULATION

Dear residents of the City of Red Bud,

The cat population is out of control.  Overpopulation causes disease and sickness.  We can work together to fix this problem.  Any one with a cat in the city limits is required to have a city tag at the cost of $2 each cat (or dog).  Another good way to identify your cat (or dog) is an AVID microchip from any vets office.  This will ensure your cats safe return if picked up by the city. 95% of animals with tags make it home.  95% of animals without tags will not make it home.  If everyone gets their female cats spayed there will not be countless kittens born every few months.  There is a city ordinance against any animal being at large, outside without an enclosure (fence) or without a leash.  Cats that are picked up by the city have a three day hold.  If we can’t find a home, they are euthanized.  Very grim results to a problem that is preventable.  Please help us help the cats.  Spay the females and put identification tags or microchip all your pets

Thank you
